The Marfan Foundation

An international community fighting for victory over genetic aortic and vascular conditions gets a fresh brand style to carry them into the modern age.
About The Marfan Foundation

The Marfan Foundation is a community-based organization that supports people living with genetic aortic and vascular conditions.

Their old website was outdated and difficult for the team to maintain, so when they wanted to migrate to WordPress they turned to HeartSpark. We led The Marfan Foundation team through the process of gathering research from their large board and key volunteers, then translated our findings into a simplified user experience with a fresh brand style for a robust new WCAG and ADA compliant website.

Using their existing logo as a foundation, we expanded the visual language of the foundation from its outdated appearance and struck a delicate balance of style between warmth and accessibility that reignited passion both inside and outside of the Marfan community.

“I have had the pleasure of working with HeartSpark Design on revitalizing the look of our brand and then taking this new clean, modern inviting look and transcending it into a whole new Squarespace website and annual report. Our new look engaged our community with refreshing aesthetics and an easy to navigate format. We continue to work with HeartSpark Design on a number of design projects including social media and newsletter graphics as well as posters, t-shirts and booklets for our upcoming conference. We are excited to continue the relationship with Lauren at HeartSpark Design as we continue to build out our marketing materials.”
